DE Intro Talk Online

What are our responsibilities at this time?

Because of the fossil fuel industry's promotion of unhealthy stories that blind us from our true relationships with each other and the rest of the natural world, we are facing horrors of a magnitude never before experienced in our human existence. Current levels of greenhouse gases add over 13 exploded Hiroshima bombs of heat to our atmosphere every second of every day. This is enough to accelerate Global Mean Surface Temperature to 8°C above preindustrial averages in our children’s lifetime, which means game over for humanity and much of the living world. Yet our government continues to lead us to the edge of no return. We must organize ourselves in nonviolent civil resistance to accelerate the democratic reorganization of the social, physical and biological systems that keep us in healthy relationship with each other and the natural world if we want a chance to survive. Our methods must be publicly disruptive and nonviolent to grow the movement large enough to win. Our actions are evidence-based, credible, and we have a plan. The next step is to include YOU!

So please join us for an introduction to the DE campaign and how you can put your skills and passion to work for people and planet.

This event will be held online via Zoom on Wednesday, 12-1pm EST
